After the interruption

Relentless rain interrupted preparations for the neighborhood's outdoor play, soaking the unfinished scenery and forcing the cast indoors. The group proved resilient by revising its rehearsal plan and replacing the damaged paper panels. Imani remained undaunted when the first replacement backdrop failed to fit through the doorway. She measured the opening, divided the new design into smaller sections, and invited the scenery team to try again after they had checked the revised dimensions together.

Being resilient did not mean that the lost work caused no disappointment. The cast complained about the relentless rain, then found ways to rehearse without the completed scenery. Imani's undaunted attitude helped them treat the doorway problem as a difficulty to address rather than a reason to abandon the production. By the next evening, the smaller panels could be assembled inside, and the group had recovered enough momentum to continue preparing the play.
