At the end of the presentation, Nora chose to reiterate the limitation that the map represented an imagined scenario rather than a real planning outcome. She then used one slide to recapitulate the main question, the depicted pattern, and the uncertainty in the interpretation. A listener asked a pertinent question about how one symbol had been assigned. Nora answered it directly instead of repeating the full preparation history, since the symbol's meaning was the part needed to understand that particular concern.
The closing slide could recapitulate the argument without reproducing every paragraph from the report. Nora needed to reiterate only the point most likely to be overlooked, not restate the entire talk in a slightly different order. The pertinent question also helped her improve a label before submitting the map. Her final version made that connection visible on the page, so a later reader would not need to attend the presentation to understand why the symbol appeared where it did.
