A library group considered a hypothetical plan to extend a small reading event into a full weekend program. Their attendance forecast was conjectural because it rested on only two earlier evenings and several untested assumptions about interest. One member wanted to extrapolate a weekend total from the average turnout at those evenings. Priya asked the group to write down what would have to remain similar for that projection to be useful, including the audience, timing, and available space.
The hypothetical plan helped the group discuss choices without announcing an event it was not ready to deliver. Priya kept the forecast labeled conjectural and showed how a different attendance assumption would change the room requirements. They could extrapolate from the limited observations as an exercise, but the result was not a promise about future visitors. Before committing to a full weekend, the group proposed another evening with a different start time and a clear way to record attendance.
