A discrepancy appeared between the year printed below one photograph and the year in its approved caption. Amara traced it to an inadvertent copying error: an old caption had been pasted into the new layout by mistake. She asked permission to emend the wording in the production file and recorded the correction in the shared change log. The image itself did not need replacing, but the contributor would check the revised proof before the catalog went to the printer.

The change log made the discrepancy easy to understand without turning a small correction into an accusation. Because the error was inadvertent, the useful response was to repair the text and identify how the older caption had entered the workflow. Amara could emend the affected sentence, but the team also needed a clearly marked location for approved captions. A final comparison then showed that the corrected page agreed with the contributor's information and with the file selected for printing.
