A note with two readings

A message about a shared studio said that members could reserve the back room after the next meeting. The timing was ambiguous: did booking begin when the meeting ended, or could members reserve dates that followed it? Noor was ambivalent about opening the room at all, welcoming the extra space but worrying about noise. She also noticed an implicit expectation that whoever booked it would restore the furniture, although the message never stated that duty directly.
Noor asked the sender to clarify the ambiguous timing before anyone rearranged a rehearsal. Her ambivalent response to the proposal was a separate matter: she could understand a clear rule and still have mixed feelings about it. She suggested making the implicit furniture expectation visible in the booking instructions. The revised note named the first booking date, described the cleanup responsibility, and left room for members to discuss their concerns about noise.
