Keep the setting and the sky chart in their own roles

A sylvan mural in a city hostel filled the dining room with painted trunks, branches, and woodland light instead of a view of the surrounding streets. During a six-night sojourn at the hostel, an illustrator completed a commission before continuing to another city. The hostel's sky chart marked a solstice at one of the Sun's two annual extremes of apparent position north or south of the equator. The illustrator copied the chart's description carefully, keeping the woodland imagery, the limited stay, and the yearly astronomical marker distinct in her journal.
The mural's sylvan character came from its wooded subject, not from a claim that the hostel itself stood in a forest. The illustrator's sojourn had a planned end and therefore differed from making the hostel her permanent home. The solstice annotation concerned the Sun's greatest apparent northern or southern position, rather than its crossing of the equator. The journal paired a sketch with a short note about each subject, allowing a reader to follow the travel account without confusing a painted setting with a location or a solar extreme with a different annual event.
