An intrusive pop-up in a student's drafting program repeatedly demanded personal details unrelated to the work she was trying to finish. An obtrusive animation flashed across the same screen so prominently that the paragraph beneath it became difficult to follow. An antagonistic exchange began when the software club's organizer treated every report of the problem as an attack and challenged the students to stop complaining. A volunteer suggested recording the interruptions and their effects before deciding how the group should respond to the organizer.
The intrusive request returned even after the student declined to provide the unrelated details, making the interruption more than a single accidental prompt. The obtrusive animation also continued to cover the text while she attempted to revise it. When the organizer's antagonistic replies prevented a useful discussion, the volunteer sent a concise report showing when each interruption appeared. The group then arranged a separate meeting about the program's behavior, with specific examples available to keep the discussion connected to the difficulty students had actually encountered.
