The bookstore manager would deem a children's reading session workable only if every family could see the illustrations from the available seats. Moving the display table was a deliberate choice made after staff tested several arrangements with an open picture book. A calculated choice of a familiar opening story gave newcomers a shared starting point before the reader introduced an unfamiliar sequel. The staff rehearsed the sequence once more, then moved a chair that still blocked the view from the doorway.

After the rehearsal, the manager could deem the arrangement ready because the previously obstructed seats now had a clear view. The deliberate repositioning had taken a few extra minutes but addressed a specific difficulty the staff had observed. The reader kept the calculated choice of a familiar opening story, then introduced the sequel after listeners recognized its returning characters. The children could follow the story, while parents had enough space to help them settle without interrupting the next page.
