The festival arrivals

The visiting soloist's entourage filled several backstage chairs with assistants, friends, and a coordinator who traveled with her throughout the fictional festival. The choir's director emeritus, retired but retaining an honorary title, arrived independently and helped a former student locate an old score. The festival announcements seemed to exalt the soloist above everyone else, praising her importance while barely naming the local players. A volunteer revised the program so readers could recognize different contributions without confusing public attention with formal responsibility.

The entourage accompanied the soloist but did not automatically hold authority over the local stage crew or the festival schedule. The director emeritus offered advice when asked, while the currently appointed director continued to lead rehearsals and make decisions. Organizers could exalt a fine performer through praise without pretending that supporting musicians had contributed nothing. The revised introduction welcomed the visitor warmly and named the ensemble whose preparation would make the shared concert possible.
