Confidence is not a solution

A witless suggestion to solve missing-tool problems by removing every label would have made identification harder rather than addressing the confusion. A fatuous boast that the project could not fail because its leader was naturally brilliant treated self-satisfaction as a substitute for a workable plan. A preposterous promise offered the same unique drill for simultaneous use in two distant places without any way to move or duplicate it. The volunteers returned to the inventory and schedule, where concrete constraints could be checked instead of dismissed.
The witless label-removal suggestion was dropped once a volunteer asked how an unmarked tool would be easier to trace. The leader withdrew the fatuous boast and helped test whether the proposed borrowing steps worked for a new user. The preposterous double booking became two separate reservations with enough time for the drill to be returned between them. The revised plan needed ordinary care and clear records, not declarations that confidence could remove every practical limitation.
