A deviation from the planned walking route took the guide-making team down a side street when the usual passage was closed for the afternoon. An irregularity in the checking procedure emerged when one team skipped the required second review of its notes. An inconsistency then appeared between a draft claiming the passage was always open and the same team's record of finding it closed. The editor asked for a careful account of the temporary closure before approving instructions for future walkers.

The route deviation had a practical explanation, so departing from the plan did not by itself establish poor judgment. The procedural irregularity still needed attention because the skipped review had removed an opportunity to catch conflicting information. Resolving the inconsistency required revising the claim of permanent access, not erasing the note about what the walkers had observed. The team added a clear alternative route and explained when a visitor might need to use it.
