In Jo's workshop story, a missed train served as the antecedent to an unexpected meeting in an empty station cafe. The climax arrived when the two travelers recognized that each carried half of the same unfinished letter. Until then, the letter's origin had remained an enigma for the characters and readers. During discussion, Jo asked the group to trace how the earlier delay made the meeting possible and whether the final recognition provided enough information to resolve the central puzzle.

One reader confused the antecedent with the climax, treating the missed train as the story's most intense moment simply because it occurred first. Another still found the letter an enigma after the travelers recognized their matching pages, since nobody had explained who separated them. Jo revised the closing exchange so that the recognition remained the emotional high point while a few added details clarified the mystery. The workshop distinguished an event's place in the sequence from its role in creating intensity or understanding.
