A confusing registration page might deter newcomers from entering the chess league by making participation seem too troublesome. Limited room access could inhibit practice even for members who remained eager to play. Repeated promises of space that never became available would undermine confidence in the organizers. The captain separated these effects: one discouraged an action, another hindered it, and the third weakened the trust that supported continued participation across the season.

To avoid letting the form deter interested players, the organizers replaced unclear instructions with a short worked example and a contact address. They arranged another room so restricted access would no longer inhibit the team's planned sessions. Finally, they reported confirmed bookings accurately to stop unreliable assurances from continuing to undermine trust. These responses did not guarantee that everyone would join or every session would succeed; they addressed the particular influences that had made progress more difficult.
