The backup room introduced another impediment: its storage closet was locked during evening rehearsals. A volunteer offered to meet the caretaker earlier and facilitate access to the props. The director also moved noisy set-building work to a different time. A quieter rehearsal period was more conducive to concentrating on the dialogue and hearing the cues from other performers.

Once the storage problem was resolved, it was no longer an impediment to using the indoor space. A shared checklist helped facilitate the move by showing who would carry each item. The arrangement was not spacious, but it was conducive to a focused rehearsal. The cast could test the simplified performance without searching for props or competing with construction noise.
