In a dream chapter, disorientation leaves a traveler unable to recognize the station or determine which journey she is supposed to be making. Vertigo appears when the motionless platform seems to rotate beneath her, giving the scene a distinct sensation of movement. A later stupor leaves the traveler dazed and barely responsive while announcements pass without drawing her attention.
