Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits
For creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min, do not exceed two ULTRACET tablets every 12 hours. Each tablet contains tramadol 37.5 mg and acetaminophen 325 mg. Use is limited to short-term acute pain treatment of five days or less. Hemodialysis removes less than 7% of tramadol and its active metabolite during four hours in tramadol-alone studies. Monitor sedation, respiratory depression and hypotension. This fixed combination is not interchangeable with a tramadol-only renal maximum; account for all other acetaminophen and tramadol exposure.
