FLOMAX (tamsulosin hydrochloride) capsules

Product / population
Adult oral BPH product.
Renal measure
Not specified; verify before use
Adult regimen

Start 0.4 mg once daily, about 30 minutes after the same meal each day. If the response is inadequate after 2-4 weeks, 0.8 mg daily may be used. After an interruption of several days, restart at 0.4 mg daily. Swallow capsules intact.

Renal statement and uncertainty

The label requires no renal dose adjustment. End-stage disease with creatinine clearance <10 mL/min/1.73 m2 was not studied. A separate dialysis regimen is not established by that statement.

Exact product and population matter. This added page contains locally stored, source-specific clinical summaries. Historical handbook information, when present, is identified separately and may conflict with U.S. labeling. Historical renal-replacement guidance

APD/CAPD and HD: described as not dialysed, using the <10 band. HDF/high-flux: removal unknown, same band. CAV/VVHD: described as not dialysed, using 10-20. The book emphasizes lack of studies below 10.

Source-specific limits

The U.S. FLOMAX label has not studied ESRD below CrCl 10 mL/min/1.73 m2; the handbook is not independent clinical-trial confirmation of dialysis safety.
