Review first - source-specific qualification

Removal of drug is not equivalent to removal of lead chelates

The selected official and mirror sections distinguish drug dialyzability from chelate removal.

Before applying: Keep toxicology assessment and monitoring attached. Do not derive a dialysis supplement from removal information alone.

Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits

The full prescribing-information renal subsection (8.5) supports baseline and periodic renal assessment during prolonged therapy, adequate hydration, and closer monitoring with a renal-impairment history. It distinguishes limited evidence of succimer dialyzability from non-dialyzability of lead chelates.

No clearance-band reduction or dialysis supplement is established by this paragraph. CBC/neutrophil and hepatic monitoring remain separate treatment safeguards. Follow the full renal subsection heading rather than relying solely on a highlights cross-reference.

What the dialysis evidence actually supports

Removal information alone does not define a maintenance dose, supplemental dose or dialysis schedule. A reported regimen still requires its product, indication, renal measure and dialysis assumptions to match the patient.

Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits

Assess renal function before therapy and periodically during prolonged treatment; monitor more frequently with pre-existing impairment and maintain adequate hydration. Limited evidence suggests succimer is dialyzable but its lead chelates are not.

Drug removal alone is not proof of effective lead-chelate clearance. The selected renal subsection supplies monitoring guidance, not a numeric renal reduction or dialysis replacement dose.
