Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits
Although oral paromomycin is poorly absorbed, the source warns that ulcerative bowel lesions can permit unintended absorption and renal toxicity. Use cautiously in that setting. This is not proof of renal safety in every patient or a basis for an IV aminoglycoside-style dose calculation.
No CrCl-based adjustment or dialysis supplement is supplied. Oral HUMATIN is directed at intestinal infection or selected adjunctive indications and is not effective for extraintestinal amebiasis.
