Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits
Use the source's NSF precautions for acute kidney injury and severe renal disease; do not exceed the recommended dose and allow elimination before repeat administration. Renal impairment increases systemic exposure. In end-stage renal disease, imaging performance and prolonged clearance also require consideration; the source advises completing imaging within 60 minutes in ESRD or when serum bilirubin exceeds 3 mg/dL. Use both precontrast and postcontrast images. Dialysis clearance data do not provide a validated renal dose reduction or a guarantee of NSF prevention.
