Renal dosing, restrictions and evidence limits
YASMIN is contraindicated in renal impairment. The source reports higher drospirenone exposure at CrCl 30-49 mL/min and warns about hyperkalemia, especially with potassium-sparing medicines. These pharmacokinetic observations do not establish a safe reduced dose or a lower renal threshold. Use the YASMIN-specific formulation and schedule; this extract is a restriction, not a contraceptive prescribing algorithm.
