Usual Dosing (Adults)

Erectile dysfunction: most patients - 50 mg taken as needed, approximately 1 hour before sexual activity (sildenafil may be taken anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours before sexual activity). Based on effectiveness and tolerance, the dose may be increased to a maximum recommended dose of 100 mg or decreased to 25 mg. Maximum recommended dosing frequency: once daily. Dose should be adjusted in the elderly; patients receiving CYP304A inhibitors, and patients with renal insufficiency.

Renal Dosing

dialysis [crcl > 30 ml/min]: No changes.

[<30 ml/min]: Initial: 25 mg, 1 hour before sexual activity.

Hemodialysis
