Cholecystitis Common pathogens
Usual Regimens:

Ampicillin-sulbactam 1.5 to 3 grams ivpb q6h OR 

Ticarcillin-clavulanic acid 3.1g ivpb q6h OR 
Piperacillin-tazobactam 3.375g ivpb q6h  or  4.5 gm IV q8h OR 
[ 3rd generation cephalosporin PLUS Metronidazole 500mg ivpb q6h ]    OR
[Ciprofloxacin 400mg ivpb Q12H PLUS
Metronidazole 500mg ivpb q6-8h]  OR
Cefotetan 1-2 gm IV q12h or Cefoxitin 1-2 gm IV q6h

Penicillin allergic:

 [Aztreonam 1-2g ivpb q6-8h PLUS
Metronidazole 500mg ivpb q6h ]     ]
Life-threatening Infections:
Doripenem 500 mg IV q8h OR
Meropenem 1 gm IV q8h OR
Imipenem 500mg IV every 6 hours.
